The History of “Dahlonega’s First Family Farm Winery”

Three Sisters Vineyards & Winery is dedicated to presenting a small family farm experience that is a destination for tourists and wine enthusiasts visiting Northeast Georgia. After purchasing the Lumpkin County property in the late summer of 1995, Sharon and Doug Paul began nearly a year of site planning for Three Sisters Vineyards.

The farm’s name is inspried by the beautiful view of Lumpkin County’s Three Sisters Mountain to the west.  Three Sisters Vineyards, Inc. was incorporated the following summer on July 19, 1996 to cultivate the growth and production of winegrapes. Sharon Paul’s brother Ken VanDusen joined the family business in October 1996 as the Vineyard Operations Manager. The Winery business was established at the end of 1999 and the first harvest and vintage was in August of 2000. The Tasting Room opened late summer in September of 2001. A little over twenty acres of grapes thrive on our mountainside property.
