Ryan Sims is a new alternative country singer in Nashville, TN. His sophomore album My Side Of The Story (High 4 Recordings) was released with a supergroup of musicians including former John Mellencamp drummer Kenny Aronoff; the Rolling Stones’ bassist Darryl Jones; Elton John’s keyboardist Kim Bullard and Lady Antebellum’s guitarist Jason “Slim” Gambill. The all-star collaboration is stand-out and makes for an incredible backdrop to Ryan’s gravely voice and personal storytelling.
My Side Of The Story was produced by Justin Gray (James Bay, Joss Stone, Mariah Carey) and the album is the culmination of a trying year for Ryan. The Cave Creek, AZ native wrote/co-wrote all of the songs on the album which describes his personal ups and downs including entering rehab for drug addiction, an ex-lover’s affair, a long-term relationship coming to an end and an emotional rollercoaster of pain, joy, anger and regret. Each song is a true story and the album is Ryan’s most vulnerable and personally revealing collection to date. Ryan spends most of his time between two music meccas – Los Angeles & Nashville. His blend of country and rock is unique and rough-edged with high energy and charisma. Listen here.
