Ingrid Michaelson’s Butterbeer

As the weather begins to cool off, try this hot commady out and lose the pumpkin spice!

Serves 6-8

Ingredients for base:

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/4 tsp sea salt

1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

3 cups apple cider

1 cup ginger ale

Whipped Cream for garnish

Start by melting butter in saucepan over medium heat and then add in brown sugar, sea salt and cream. Whisk and bring to a gentle boil. Cook and stir occasionally for about 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla and apple cider next. Heat until very hot. Serve in a mug and top it off with whipped cream (and a cinnamon stick for some extra spice)!
