Tell us a little bit about how you got in to music?
I’ve always loved to sing! When I was little, we had a no singing rule in the car because I would never shut up. I would always be singing. So I think my parents knew from a young age that something in music was going to happen for me. I started writing songs the summer I was going into high school. I had previously taken some guitar lessons when I was in 4th grade and hated it because I just wanted to play songs and sing. But they wanted me to practice and really learn everything and I was like no I just want to play songs so my guitar just sat in my room until the summer I went into high school and I picked it up because I was bored and I remembered four chords and I wrote my first song. I taught myself how to play guitar again through writing my first song. It just became something I loved so much, it was a way for me to let my feelings out and just be creative and have fun.
Tell us more about your new single “Who Knows Who.”
I’m really excited about this one! It’s just a really fun, sassy, sing-along-able song. I think a lot of people will relate to it. It’s kind of about that point in a relationship where maybe you just broke up or you haven’t figured out if you’re together yet and you want this person to know, “hey I can have fun without you and I can be anywhere doing anything right now and you have no clue.”
Tell us a little bit about who inspires you, musically and personally?
As a musician, a big influence for me growing up was Shania Twain, she was one of my first concerts and I’ve just always loved her and her songs and the production. She’s a queen. Another one is Patsy Cline. There was a time in high school where she was all I listened to for like a year. So those are two really big influences. Of course I love Dolly Parton and I really look up to her. It’s hard not to love her!
If you could collaborate with one artist dead or alive, who would it be?
I’m gonna throw something crazy out there but I love Bruno Mars. So if I were to ever get to do a CMT crossover episode situation, I would die. I love Bruno Mars. I’ve seen him live twice. Best concert I’ve ever been to. He’s just an entertainer and I want him to teach me how to dance.
What was your first concert?
My very first concert was Celine Dion, I was 3. I’m pretty sure I could sing before I could talk. The first song I sang was “My Heart Will Go On,” and I would sing it anywhere I went. I called it the Titanic Song, so my parents had to take me to see the Titanic Song and I fell asleep during the concert so they had to wake me up for that one song.
What is on the horizon in 2018 for your music career?
2018 is going to look like a lot of new music from me, which I am so excited about. I’m going to ride the wave with “Who Knows Who” and see if we can get some action happening. Then we want to put out a music video for that song and then an EP. So 2018 is new music.

Now onto some food questions…
Do you cook? If so, what is your favorite dish to cook?
I am an aspiring cook, I keep it very simple. I can cook eggs and soup. Anything I can put into a crock pot, you know? It’s easy and then I have left overs. I’m cookin’ for one which is difficult because who really wants to put in all that work for one meal or to eat it for 7 days in a row?
What is your unhealthy guilty pleasure?
I feel like I have a lot. Dark chocolate for sure. But I also love Ice cream, I love sweets. I’m a sweets girl, but sometimes I also crave salt and vinegar chips. You better keep those away from me because I will take the whole bag.
Name some foods you cannot stand to eat.
Hard boiled eggs. I like cooked eggs but I just can’t do it. The texture…not into it. I’m also not a fan of beats.
Favorite Nashville restaurant?
I feel like there are so many and I’m still exploring and learning about all of the restaurants, but I love Taco Mamacita. It’s a go-to and it’s right by our office.
Favorite ice cream?
Have you had Jeni’s Ice Cream here in town? I love their darkest chocolate obviously but it can change.
Finally for Battered and Brewed, if you could have a meal and a drink with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and what would you have?
Because we were talking about him earlier, I’m going to say Bruno Mars because I would just love to experience being close to him and just having a conversation with him to see if he is cool. I’m sure he’s really cool but is he to cool? I’d probably have a steak dinner, some red wine and then some tiramisu for dessert. Only the best for Bruno!
