“12 Cocktails of Christmas” Sam Rochford’s Delicious Sherbie Recipe
1 lg. cranberry juice
1 bottle ginger ale
1 bottle sprite
1 pt. sherbet ice cream
Mix all ingredients in large punch bowl. Add spoonfuls of sherbet and cherries on top.

My favorite holiday cocktail recipe is called “Sherbie.” It’s just Sherbert ice cream, sprite, ginger ale, cranberry juice, cherries, vodka to taste served in a punch bowl.

Do you have a favorite Christmas candy?

I’m not a huge fan of peppermint which is a huge theme in most holiday candy. I think I don’t like it because it makes my mouth cold when it’s already cold outside and I’m a sensitive baby about my body temperature. In the winter I prefer basically anything chocolate.

What’s your favorite Christmas memory/is there a toy you received that to this day still makes you smile thinking of it?

Well I’m Jewish so some of my favorite memories include watching my mom speak Hebrew and learning about the different Chanukah traditions and history. My favorite part about holidays has always been more about eating and spending time with my family than actually getting presents.

What sort of things did you get in your stocking as a child?

I’ve never been a material person so I have a hard time asking for gifts. I could really just get a bunch of chocolate and be happy.

Do you have any favorite tradition’s or favorite movie’s for the holiday season?

My Dad is obsessed with the movie “March of the Wooden Soldiers” which would be on TV every year when he was growing up. It was released in 1934 so the costumes and the writing are a little cheesy when you watch it in 2017, but it’s still a cool thing we always do together as a family.

What’s been your favorite album/song of 2017?

I’ve been pretty obsessed with Jason Isbell’s new album “The Nashville Sound.” I saw him play at the Ryman and literally just cried for his entire three hour set. He’s such an amazing writer and musician, it’s a huge inspiration.

What are your hopes for 2018? Any exciting plans?

Well right now I’m trying to write a song and make a video every day for the month of October. I’m very much inspired by visual artists who do something called “Inktober” where they draw every single day in October and post about it. It’s tough to make myself sit down and finish a song every day because I’m really busy and I don’t always feel like it. But I feel like the days that you force yourself is when you learn the most, even if you don’t get a good song out of it.

@samrochfordmusic Drinking iced coffee in the snow because I’m from New England.
