Cody Johnson will perform Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Touchdown and Tunes Festival in Mayfield, KY. Doors will open at 11am and tickets are on sale at https://www.touchdownsandtunes.com/.
Cody Johnson has proven to be one of the most beloved voices in the Texas Country music scene. His tour schedule has been packed since the release of his album, “Gotta Be Me” with a string of sold-out shows, breaking attendance record after attendance record. Cody’s popular songs include, “With You I Am,” and current single “Wild As You.”
What are you looking forward to most playing Touchdown and Tunes Festival Labor Day Weekend?
It is a new place for me. Being a boy from Texas anytime I have a chance to branch out and play a new place that I have never been, I think it’s one of the coolest things about my job. I like getting to go to places like New York, Wyoming, California, Kentucky, and Tennessee to name a few. I love sight seeing and it gives me a chance to see the world. Getting to play in front of people that might not have seen me yet is a really cool feeling.
What song are you most excited for fans to hear at the festival?
I would say our current single “Wild As You.” Our last single that I am sure most fans will be familiar with is “With You I Am.” We are following it up with “Wild As You” and I have seen a huge crowd reaction playing it. I am sure that is what fans will be looking forward too.
Are fans going to be able to meet and talk with you doing the festival?
Yes, we will be doing a meet and greet. I think it is so cool getting to meet new people and the fans and put names with faces.
Who was your first concert?
Billy Joe Shaver!
Is there anything coming up for your band that you’d like to share?
We are going to be going back into the studio this next year with a new album to follow up our current album, “Gotta Be Me.” That’s always exciting.
