Is this your first CMA Music Fest? What do you think so far?
Yes, I am and I’m super excited. So far it’s awesome.
Tell me about your first single, “Crazy,” which is at radio now? What was the inspiration?
I wrote this song and it’s about a boy who drives you crazy. It’s about the ups and the downs, like how it can be so good but at the same time be so bad for you.
What about “Firefly Curfew”? How did you come up with that title?
That one was a co-write and we wanted it to be summery and upbeat. We thought of being outside at night time when the fireflies come out.
And now a few foodie questions….
Chicago is a foodie paradise! How do you take your “Chicago dog”
Hahaha you won’t like this but- Plain, nothing on it. Ketchup maybe.
What’s the best place to Chicago Deep Dish pizza?
Uno’s is my favorite place in Chicago.
What’s some Nashville restaurants you are loving?
Whiskey Kitchen and Hatti B’s
You’ve already performed at the Bluebird Café? Can you tell me about that experience?
That was an amazing experience, definitely by far one of my favorites. I have always wanted to perform there after seeing all of the artists that have, so it was awesome to sit where they have sat. I was a little nervous, other than that it was awesome.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I think the biggest thing for me so far was sitting in front of the speakers when I heard my first single “Crazy.” That was a really cool moment because it was my first time.
Who’s your favorite female country artist and why?
I look up to people like Kelsea Ballerini, Kacey Musgraves, Miranda Lambert – there’s a whole bunch of them – Taylor Swift.
