Growing up in Bilboa, North Carolina, what was a typical dinner or family meal like for you?
Lots of home cooking with sitting down dinners. Seems like mashed potatoes were always on the table!
Was there ever music playing in the kitchen growing up?
Yes, our house always had music playing…from the radio to somethin’ I just wrote.
Southerners know good cookin’. What is your favorite comfort food?
What should every Southern kitchen be stocked with?
Garlic & Red Peppers!
We heard you you are quite the grill master! What is your idea of perfect grilling happiness?
A ribeye cooked just under medium rare!
What grilling recipe is your absolute favorite?
Grillin’ chicken with John Boy & Billy’s grilling’ sauce!
Which grilling tool do you find most useful?
The “Cold Beer” tool.
When you are not cooking and grilling out where do you like go to eat?
It’s hard for me to pass up Bojangles.
Is there anywhere that you must eat when you are in Nashville?
What food is your food vice? You know, one you can’t control yourself around?
I love my mamma’s Chicken Casserole!!!
How does food play a part when touring or being in new places?
We try to take in the local scene most everywhere we go.
What are you Backstage Food Requests?
Most memorable meal while touring. Where were you and what did it involve?
Brantley Gilbert, Canaan Smith, Michael Ray and myself went to a 5 Star steak house in Oklahoma City, OK and had on e of the best steaks I have ever eaten. (Still surprised they even let us in!!!)
After playing a late show, what is your guilty pleasure food?
It’s gonna sound crazy but…Peanut Butter and Jelly. (It’s a real PB&J though…I’m talking a pile of PB and a pile of Jelly!!)
Tell us about the famous Solo Cup photos? What is in there?
Pre-show it’s just a cold beer…after show well…!!!
What is your favorite Brew? Do you ever cook with beer?
I am a fan of cold beer and Jack Daniels. And yes I cook with both, just not in the food.
Aside from your passion for food and music, what’s the one thing that really keeps you ticking?
Water! Saltwater or Fresh water, I love being in it and around it!!
With 2016 coming to a close, what will we see from Brian Davis next year?
We will be back out touring with some really good bros of mine…can’t really announce anything officially yet…but 2017’s gonna be big ol party!!!
Any new music on the horizon?
Yes!! We are working on a new record now. It’s looking like an early 2017 release.
Finally for Battered and Brewed, If you could have a drink with anyone, who would it be and what would you drink?
Jesus…I’d have a cold beer and just let him talk…Imagine the stories!!!
