New Music Friday: Kelsey Lamb

New Music Friday: Kelsey Lamb

Hi Kelsey! Thank you for chatting with us. How did you get into music?

I have, in a sense, always been in music. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a ‘singer’ but, my first dive into the industry was actually about 3 years ago when I co-starred with Alan Thicke in the Kenny Rogers Christmas production, “The Toy Shoppe.” I would say that was when I really got my career started!

Your latest single, “Little By Little,” is fantastic! Tell me a little bit about this song. What is the inspiration behind it?

“Little By Little” was co-written with Erik Dinardo and Jesse Labelle, here in Nashville! I brought this title into the first writing session that we had when I was in the beginning stages of a new relationship. I wanted to paint that picture of compromise and the give and take in a relationship!

Who inspires you musically?

I have so many musical inspirations, but to narrow it down I would say that vocally my inspiration comes from Alison Krauss, and production/music wise I definitely draw a lot of inspiration from Tim McGraw and Blake Shelton!

Who would you love to do a collaboration with?

If I could collaborate with someone on the radio today, it would hands down be Brett Young. I am obsessed with his new song “Mercy.”

What else can fans expect from you this year?

New Music, new videos, and lots of shows!

Now onto the food questions…

Name three things that are always in your refrigerator.

Eggs, Bacon, Diet Coke

What was your favorite meal growing up?

Chicken Nuggets and Mashed Potatoes.

I see you are from Little Rock, Arkansas. What is your favorite hometown restaurant?

Delicious Temptations, by far the best breakfast in town!

Do you like to cook? If so, what is your favorite dish to prepare?

I’m a horrible cook, but I like to try… I love cooking Spaghetti!

Favorite Nashville restaurant?

Tavern in Midtown, their fries are amazing!

Finally, if you could have a meal and a drink with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and what would you have?

Marilyn Monroe, and we would for sure be at a classy bar having some steak!
