Exclusive Interview With 14-Year Old Country Singer Queeva
Thank you for chatting with us! When did you start getting into music and how did you know it’s what you are meant to do?
My dad always played country music in the car when I was growing up. I always knew I wanted to be a country singer – starting at 4 years old! My favorite songs to sing around the house when I was little were “Coat of Many Colors” by Dolly Parton and “Redneck Women” by Gretchen Wilson.

Who do you draw inspiration from?
I draw inspiration from Kelsea Ballerini, because she has such great stage presence and I love the tone of her voice. I also love the melodies in her songs, and she inspires me to keep working hard like she did.

Do you write your own music?

Yes I do! I co-write with other amazing writers in Nashville as well. I love writing, because it allows me to send out the message I want to share, and hopefully inspire people.

Do you have any shows coming up?

Yes! I will be playing in Kentucky at the HamJam festival in October, and I’m super excited!

What else is on the horizon for the rest of 2018 for your musical career?

I will be doing more shows around Chicago and in Nashville, and probably visiting radio stations! I will also be releasing new music, and I can’t wait for my fans to hear my new songs!

Now onto the food questions…

What are three things that are always in your refrigerator?

Three things that are always in my refrigerator are, strawberries, milk and eggs. I love strawberries and scrambled eggs, and I could honestly drink milk every day!

Coming from an Irish background, are there any unique family recipes you can share with us?

Since I am Irish, we love making Irish breakfasts. An Irish breakfast consists of Irish sausages, rashers, toast, beans, eggs, tea, and black and white pudding. This is my favorite breakfast, and it is so tasty!

What is one food everyone tells you to try, but you just can’t get up the nerve to do it?

Everyone tells me that I should try sushi, but I haven’t tried it yet, because I don’t think I would like raw fish. I’m not a huge fan of seafood, so I don’t think that I would like it.

What is your guilty pleasure food?

My guilty pleasure food is 100% Brookside Acai and Blueberry Flavor dark chocolate. It is my favorite chocolate, and I never get bored of it.

Finally, if you could have a meal with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and what would you have?

I would love to share a meal with Taylor Swift. I’d love to learn what inspires to write her songs and how she balances her music life with her daily life. We would definitely have pizza, my favorite food – and who doesn’t like pizza?
