This week, I want to take you on a foodie tour of Macon, GA during Bragg Jam Music Fest 2016.
Aside from dining, Macon, GA had beautiful homes and scenery, a ton of activities, concerts, shopping… I could go on and on. But the food and music were of course what I came for! You can check out more from the weekend on Instagram. I’m very happy to reveal some of my “best bites” so that you too can enjoy them if you haven’t already.
Here’s a recap of several of my favorite food experiences from Bragg Jam Music Fest 2016!
488 1st St, Macon, GA 31201
They are a Craft Beer Superstore & Casual Pint Café! They carry 64 Taps of fresh craft beer (but you can see from the photo it is always changing!) They also have artisan style pub food from around the World. Do like I did and stay for awhile to sample their artisan style pub food, featuring Bavarian, Italian, and United Kingdom pub food items. They are getting ready to open their own Brewery in Macon later this year called the Ocmulgee Brewpub. If you want Southern Hospitality at its finest, then you have found your place! There is something for everyone at Just Tap’d.
442 2nd St, Macon, GA 31201
Hip hangout with outdoor seating and a variety of sandwiches & live music events. Unfortunately because of traffic on my trip I got to the restaurant to late to enjoy the famous Pastrami Sandwich (pictured above). But do not worry, I defiantly will be back to try it!
Taste and See
546 Poplar St, Macon, GA 31201
This Contemporary coffeehouse & art gallery is so cozy! It has light bites & a dramatic, wood-accented seating area. I tried the Liquid Gold iced coffee- A double shot espresso, steamed milk, and homemade caramel sauce and ate the turkey and muenster cheese on toasted ciabatta bread.
468 2nd St, Macon, GA 31201
Bearfoot Tavern is Middle Georgia’s ONLY gastro pub and beer garden. I tried the delicious and spicy blackened fish tacos with a lime vinaigrette cabbage, tomato, and cilantro on corn tortillas. It also had a avocado salsa verde to top it off. I also tried the Bearfoot buffalo signature wings. Again spicy but delicious! I would have loved to eat my way through their entire menu. They have a great back patio with live music as well as the cucumber infused Gin drink they make in house pictured above.
A Big thank you to everyone for having at your restaurants. Macon is beautiful and booming!
About Bragg Jam Music, Arts and Kids’ Festival:
The last Saturday of July is Macon, Georgia’s ultimate summer music festival where, rain or shine, 80+ bands take on 20+ stages and put on one unforgettable shows after another in a jam-packed, country, rock, blues, electronic and soul-infused night.
But the Bragg Jam Festival isn’t just for live-music lovin’ night owls. During the day, Bragg Jam’s Arts @ the Park hosts a free daytime event where families are invited to create, perform and play in the heart of the city. The event features art, food and beverage vendors, live music and community performances and nature-oriented activities.
Bragg Jam donated a portion of this year’s net proceeds to the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail, the Cox Capitol Theatre and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame’s M.I.K.E. (Music in Kids Education) program. Inspired by late musicians and brothers Brax & Tate Bragg and operated as a 501(c)3 under a volunteer board of directors, as of 2010 the festival has contributed over $150,000 of its net proceeds to charitable organizations.
